In some special cases, usually in romantic music, one may want to invert the sense of a slur, linking for example a keyboard phrase beginning at the left hand and ending at the right hand. Thus, the slur of number n (a numeric vamue, not a roman numeral) can be inverted by

Besides, for some good reason, one may want to raise a slur at the
next line. This is done by

which will lift the slur number n by the given amount at
the next line change. Of course,
normalshapemediumseriesnormalshapemediumseries\liftslur could be called in the middle
of a line, but the result would be rather ugly.
